As 2024 comes to a close, we can't help but reflect on all the memories and milestones of the past year. This year, the Addition Financial team worked hard to provide new solutions and great service, so every member could more easily achieve their financial goals. At the same time, we aimed to continue fostering connections with our local community.

As a credit union, we're member-owned. That means the previous year's journey wasn't just ours – it includes everyone we've served along the way. So, what were the most notable moments of 2024? Let's take a look at our year in review.

Addition Financial Foundation Gives Back

Some of our proudest moments will always be tied to our work through the Addition Financial Foundation. This past August, we were thrilled to award four deserving teachers with classroom makeovers to kickstart the school year. Each winning public school teacher had their space transformed into an engaging learning environment with help from Seminole State College interior design interns. This initiative is one way we remain committed to our community and the education they receive.

Then, we had the opportunity to support 10 local nonprofits through our 3rd annual Community Giving Celebration this year. We were thrilled to offer our 2024 Community Giving Class a total of $175,000 in unrestricted funds, so they can continue to benefit areas such as youth, education, underserved communities, and economic development.

An Upgraded Digital Experience

One big upgrade we offered members this year was our new and improved Digital Banking. In today's fast-paced world, we know our members want instant access to their finances whenever and wherever. That's why we unveiled our all-new platform, designed to make everyday banking more user-friendly.

The outcome is a smooth and friendly design that helps members manage their money easily online or in the mobile app. Whether you want to deposit checks, transfer cash, or pay bills, our improved Digital Banking lets you do it all, with robust security measures in place to keep you and your money safe.

Shredding to Prevent Identity Theft

At Addition Financial, safety is always a top priority. That's why we were excited to hold our community event, Shred-a-thon, to further protect our community from financial fraud and identity theft. The event, which took place on November 9th, was a wonderful opportunity for local residents to gather any cluttered papers or old electronics around their homes, ensuring they were properly disposed of. Our team had shred trucks on site in Lake Mary, so all participants had to do was show up with any documents they wanted off their hands.

The Launch of Adding FUNdamentals

We believe money knowledge is power, which is why we strive to promote financial literacy throughout our community. One exciting way we did this was by launching Adding FUNdamentals in partnership with Junior Achievement of Central Florida, AdventHealth, and Orange County Public Schools. This learning program is the area’s first financial education program for Pre-K students, designed to instill money skills early in life. This past year, Adding FUNdamentals was brought into seven new childcare centers and 11 new classrooms – making a total of 15 centers/schools and 25 classrooms.

Expanded Collegiate Partnerships

As we partner with local schools, we are always looking for new ways to extend our impact. We are dedicated to helping the next generation of leaders and innovators, which is why we continue to work closely with Central Florida colleges.

This year, we proudly became the first financial institution to be a Pegasus Partner at the University of Central Florida. With this new level of partnership, we are excited to support the construction of the new Dr. Phillips Nursing Pavilion, projected to open in the fall of 2025. We're honored to help support students in their educational endeavors for many years to come as the Official Financial Institution of the UCF Knights.

In addition, we formed a new partnership with Orange Technical College in 2024. Through this collaboration, we support students across all seven OTC campuses and offer financial education workshops, providing students with a strong foundation for financial success. Our collegiate partnerships are an investment in the future, and we're excited to empower young adults to achieve their goals.

Awards and Recognitions

Our team was honored to be awarded for our hard work in 2024, and we're grateful to be recognized for our commitment to excellence. Here are some exciting awards we received for the current year:

• Newsweek – America's Best Credit Unions for 2024: With results based on independent customer surveys of more than 35,000 individuals, 140,000 reviews of regional banks and credit unions across all states were collected (excluding all nationwide operating banks and credit unions).
• Forbes – America’s Best-In-State Credit Unions 2024: Addition Financial was included among the ranks of highly valued credit unions, based on an independent survey of approximately 26,000 U.S. residents and publicly available reviews online.
  
• Orlando Sentinel – Top Workplaces 2024: This annual list is based completely on confidential employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey. The survey assesses employee experience at a variety of Central Florida companies.

These awards highlight our effort to provide great financial products and services to our valued members, as well as the culture we aim to foster for all employees.
